1st Stop – Selaron Stairways – Located on an unassuming backstreet of Old Downtown Rio, a few blocks from Cinelandia metro station, tucked away behind bars, restaurants, and homes, lies the unexpected explosion of color and creativity known as the Selaron Stairs (or Escadaria Selaron in Portuguese). This fanciful creation sprung directly from the imagination of Chilean Jorge Selaron, as a “tribute to the Brazilian people” in the words of the artist.
After Selaron, the Tour will continue to Cinelândia Square – One of the most important squares in the city. It doesn’t have the same fame anymore as it had a hundred years ago when it was called the Broadway of Rio, but historically it has had a great impact on the development of the city. In the colonial period, the square was simply the area that housed the Ajuda Convent built for women in 1750. The most significant buildings in the area that remain in the square today are the Teatro Municipal (Municipal Theater), Biblioteca Nacional (Brazilian National Library), Palacio Pedro Ernesto (City Hall), Tribunal Superior (Higher Court), and the nearby Museu Nacional de Bela Artes (The National Museum of Fine Arts). Most of the buildings’ façades and interiors reflect the French Beaux-Arts architectural style, a design that was considered symbolic of Rio de Janeiro’s modernization. The visit will last approx. 20 minutes if Traffic is favorable.
After Cinelandia, the tour will continue to the Sugar Loaf Mountains, where passengers will ride the World Famous Cable Cars (Fast-Pass Included on both ways), in two steps all the way to the top of the Urca Hill, 215 meters high, which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Niterói Beaches and the Corcovado Mountain. The visit will last approx 1 hour and a half.
Last Stop – Ipanema Beach, where passengers will have 1 hour and 20 minutes (if traffic is favorable) at Leisure to soak up the authentic Carnival atmosphere, walk the promenade, sit by a Kiosk for drinks and snacks, people watch, or swim in the ocean. The beachfront avenue is closed to traffic, and it becomes a huge boulevard, with parties all over and people wearing costumes celebrating the biggest Brazilian Holiday. It´ll be an unforgettable experience!
Ipanema is a 2km (1.25 miles) long beach, and it´s definitely one of Rio´s most sophisticated and upscale neighborhoods. Ipanema is divided into 3 areas: Arpoador (north end), Ipanema, and Leblon (south end). The beachfront properties have the most expensive Square Foot in Rio and Brazil.
Return to the Port around 2:45pm. Early return so you can rest and save energy for the very long Carnival Parade evening.
Very Important! The 2-half-day Tour was designed for passengers watching the Carnival Parade on Monday Night. Tuesday Tour Early Afternoon Pick Up so you can rest all morning after the long night.
Carnival Parade Tickets and transfers are not included in the 2-half-day Tour, and DoBrazilRight will gladly assist you with the best options!

1st Stop – Christ Statue – Pre-scheduled Train Tickets – No lines to go Up the Hill. Ride the Iconic Train to the top of Corcovado Hill. The visit will last approx 2 hours. During Carnival, please expect big lines for the Return Train ride that unfortunately cannot be prescheduled (only going up). It´s crucial all passengers are together in the line so they can all catch the same return train. Otherwise, it will cause an inconvenient delay.
After the Christ visitation, the Tour will continue to Copacabana Beach, which, during the holiday, is also closed for traffic and is where a big part of the Carnival action takes place—known for its 4 km (2.5 miles) beach, which is one of the most famous in the world and stretches from Posto Um (lifeguard watchtower One) in Leme Beach to Posto Seis (lifeguard watchtower Six).
Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches are definitely the places everyone wants to hang out during the Holiday, as there will be street parties all over the place. You can sit by a kiosk for refreshments and people watch, walk the promenade, and even dive in the ocean. Make sure to bring your bathing suit. The visit will last approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes.

From 19 days in Advance or Less – a 30% ADM Fee will be charged to cover the non-refundable deposits made to Service providers (Vehicles & Guides).
A 4% Stripe fee will be charged on any refunded credit card transactions.

We understand that unexpected delays or schedule changes might occur during your journey. In such a situation, we assure you that all tours will be rescheduled according to the new times at the Port(s), and our Guides and Vehicles will deliver the service(s). However, please note that full refunds cannot be issued in case of schedule changes that are completely out of our control within less than 19 days of the tour date. We start working on these groups most of the time a year in advance, and to guarantee the best vehicles and tour guides, especially on Cruise Ship dates and Carnival, the busiest of the year, non-refundable prepayments and deposits are required by our tour providers and Guides. Moreover, we offer credits for future tours that are valid for an unlimited time to ensure you don’t miss out on the experience.

Very Important!!!
The tour might suffer some adjustments because of the Christ Statue Train Tickets, which during Cruise Ship Days, are not always available for the day/time we have previously scheduled for the Tour. We might even need to switch and have all passengers going to Christ in the Afternoon or the day before. For any adjustments, passengers will definitely be notified via email.
