14Feb26 – Saturday – 7:40am Pick Up – Half-Day 06 Hour Tour
+
1st Stop – Christ Statue – Pre-scheduled Train Tickets – No lines to go Up the Hill. Ride the Iconic Train to the top of Corcovado Hill. The visit will last approx 2 hours. During Carnival, please expect big lines for the Return Train ride that unfortunately cannot be prescheduled (only going up). It´s crucial all passengers are together in the line so they can all catch the same return train. Otherwise, it will cause an inconvenient delay.
2nd Stop—Ipanema Beach—Its sands mark the history of Bossa Nova music. Ipanema is among the favorite beaches of Cariocas for its charm and relaxation. It is world-renowned for the song “Girl from Ipanema” by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Morais. The beach is a meeting point for young residents and enchanted tourists, stretching from Posto 7 in Arpoador to Posto 12 in Leblon; yes, the same beach has 3 different names: Arpoador (north end), Ipanema, and Leblon (south end).
Ipanema is one of the most upscale neighborhoods in Brazil and South America, and it´s a lot more modern and contemporary than its neighbor, Copacabana. During Carnival, the beachfront avenue closes to traffic, becoming a gigantic boulevard with so much Carnival action. The beach is used for the practice of various sports, in addition to being the stage for outdoor concerts. Cariocas and tourists usually sit on its sands in the late afternoon to chat and applaud the magnificent sunset. Many beach kiosks serve snacks and refreshments, and there will be plenty of time to walk on the boardwalk or even dive into the ocean. Passengers will have approx. 1 hour at Leisure at Arpoador (north end).
3rd stop at Cinelandia Square – One of the most important squares in the city. It doesn’t have the same fame anymore as it had a hundred years ago when it was called the Broadway of Rio, but historically, it has dramatically impacted the city’s development. In the colonial period, the square was simply the area that housed the “Ajuda Convent” built for women in 1750. The most significant buildings in the area that remain in the square today are the Teatro Municipal (Municipal Theater), Biblioteca Nacional (Brazilian National Library), Palacio Pedro Ernesto (City Hall), Tribunal Superior (Higher Court), and the nearby Museu Nacional de Bela Artes (The National Museum of Fine Arts). Most of the buildings’ façades and interiors reflect the French Beaux-Arts architectural style, a design that was considered symbolic of Rio de Janeiro’s modernization. The visit will last approx. 10 minutes.
4th Stop – Selaron Stairways – Located on an unassuming backstreet of Rio de Janeiro, a few blocks from Cinelandia metro station, tucked away behind bars, restaurants, and homes, lies the unexpected explosion of color and creativity known as the Selaron Stairs (or Escadaria Selaron in Portuguese). This fanciful creation sprung directly from the imagination of Chilean Jorge Selaron as a “tribute to the Brazilian people,” in the artist’s words. The visit will last approx. 20 minutes.

3rd Stop – Sugarloaf Mountains – Fast Pass Included – Skip all 4 lines on both ways! From Praia Vermelha, the visitants take the first tram linked to Urca Hill, and from there, a second tram takes them to the top of Sugar Loaf Hill, 396 meters above sea level. Inaugurated in 1912, the little tram of the Sugarloaf was the first Brazilian cable car and the third in the world, linking the Urca hill to the Sugarloaf mountain. The peak of the two mountains reveals the gorgeous landscapes of the city, including Botafogo Bay, Copacabana Beach, and the entrance of Guanabara Bay. The visit will last approx. 2 hours.
4th Stop – Copacabana Beach – Brazil´s most famous beach, Copacabana, is in the heart of the luxurious Zona Sul (South Zone) neighborhood. “Postos” mark the beach, or lifeguard stands, that offer changing rooms and restrooms for a small fee. Copacabana’s 2.5-mile stretch of sand runs from Posto 1 to Posto 6, where you’ll find a peninsula that houses the Historical Museum of the Army and the Copacabana Fortress.
Copacabana Beach boasts much more than powdery sands. It is brimming with authentic eats, lavish accommodations, and the beautiful Avenida Atlantica sideway made of mosaic tiles. There will be plenty of time to lay on the beach, walk the boardwalk, sit by a Kiosk or a restaurant for snacks/refreshments/quick lunch, people-watch, and even dive in the ocean (don´t forget your bathing suits)! There will also be several street parties held along the beach. Passengers will have approximately 1 hour at Leisure.
Return to the Port – 2:45 pm
Arrival at the Port – 3 pm
When visiting Rio, especially during Carnival, when it is so difficult to navigate the City because of the hundreds of Street Parties, spending time on both Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches is a must to experience and feel the authentic Rio de Janeiro culture and lifestyle. That´s where everyone wants to hang out during Carnival, and plenty of Oceanfront kiosks and restaurants serve all types of drinks and snacks. We want to ensure you get to soak in the authentic Rio Carnival without being rushed. We wish we could include other venues and stops on your tour, but unfortunately, during Carnival, this is impossible. You´d spend most of the time stuck in traffic!
Very Important! The 2-Day Tour was designed for passengers watching the Carnival Parade on Saturday Night. Saturday Early Tour Pick Up, so you can rest the entire afternoon and save all your energy for the Carnival Parade, which will start between 9 and 10 pm (not defined yet) and finish around 5 am. Carnival Parade Tickets and transfers are not included in the 2-half-day Tour, and DoBrazilRight will gladly assist you with the best options!

Very Important!!!
The tour might suffer some adjustments because of the Christ Statue Train Tickets, which, during Cruise Ship Days, are not always available for the day/time we have previously scheduled for the Tour. We might even need to switch and have all passengers going to Christ in the Afternoon or the day before. Passengers will definitely be notified via email of any adjustments. Thank you for your comprehension.
