1st Stop – Selaron Stairways – Located on an unassuming backstreet of Old Downtown Rio, a few blocks from Cinelandia metro station, tucked away behind bars, restaurants, and homes, lies the unexpected explosion of color and creativity known as the Selaron Stairs (or Escadaria Selaron in Portuguese). This fanciful creation sprung directly from the imagination of Chilean Jorge Selaron as a “tribute to the Brazilian people,” in the artist’s words.
2nd Stop – Cinelândia Square – One of the most important squares in the city. It doesn’t have the same fame anymore as it had a hundred years ago when it was called the Broadway of Rio. Still, historically, it has significantly impacted the city’s development. In the colonial period, the square was simply the area that housed the Ajuda Convent, built for women in 1750. The most significant buildings in the area that remain in the square today are the Teatro Municipal (Municipal Theater), Biblioteca Nacional (Brazilian National Library), Palacio Pedro Ernesto (City Hall), Tribunal Superior (Higher Court), and the nearby Museu Nacional de Bela Artes (The National Museum of Fine Arts). Most of the buildings’ façades and interiors reflect the French Beaux-Arts architectural style, a design that was considered symbolic of Rio de Janeiro’s modernization. The visit will last approx. 20 minutes if Traffic is favorable.
After Cinelândia, the tour will continue to the world-famous Copacabana Beach. Visitors will have 2 hours at Leisure to walk the promenade, lay on the beach, dive in the ocean, or sit by a kiosk for snacks/refreshments/people watch. Make sure to bring your bathing suit.
The tour will continue to the Sugar Loaf Mountains, where passengers will ride the World Famous Cable Cars (Fast-Pass Included on both ways) in two steps to the top of the Urca Hill, 215 meters high, which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Niterói Beaches and the Corcovado Mountain. The visit will last approx 2 hours, from 5:10 to 7:10pm. Sunset on the 7th of March will be at 6:16pm!

08Mar25 – Saturday – 7:50am Pick Up – Half-Day 06 Hour Tour

1st Stop – Christ Statue – Pre-scheduled Train Tickets – No lines to go Up the Hill. Ride the Iconic Train to the top of Corcovado Hill. The visit will last approx 1 hour and a half. During Carnival, please expect big lines for the Return Train ride that unfortunately cannot be prescheduled (only going up). It´s crucial all passengers are together in the line so they can all catch the same return train. Otherwise, it will cause an inconvenient delay.
After the Christ visitation, the Tour will continue to São Salvador Square for the Bafafá Street Party. Praça São Salvador is a beautiful and famous square in the Laranjeiras neighborhood, a traditional upper-middle-class neighborhood. It is a bohemian stronghold, surrounded by bars and restaurants, where people gather for samba circles and craft fairs on weekends. The group will attend a street party called Bafafá, one of our favorites because it is a relatively small neighborhood party that is family-friendly and safe for all ages in a beautiful neighborhood most tourists do not get to visit. 3rd Stop – Ipanema Beach, where passengers will have 1 hour and 30 minutes at Leisure to lay on th beach, swim in the ocean, walk the promenade, or sit by a Kiosk for drinks and snacks.
Ipanema is a 2km (1.25 miles) long beach, and it´s definitely one of Rio´s most sophisticated and upscale neighborhoods. Ipanema is divided into 3 areas, Arpoador (north end), Ipanema, and Leblon (south end).
1:35pm Return to the Port.
The 2-Half-Day Tour was designed for passengers watching the Carnival Parade on Saturday Night. Saturday Early Tour Pick Up, so you can rest the entire afternoon and save all your energy for the Champions Parade, which will start at 9:30pm and finish around 5:30am. Carnival Parade Tickets and transfers are not included in the 2-Day Tour, and DoBrazilRight will gladly assist you with the best options!

However, please note that full refunds cannot be issued in case of schedule changes that are completely out of our control within less than 19 days of the tour date. We start working on these groups most of the time a year in advance, and to guarantee the best vehicles and tour guides, especially on Cruise Ship dates and Carnival, the busiest of the year, non-refundable prepayments and deposits are required by our tour providers and Guides. Moreover, we offer credits for future tours that are valid for an unlimited time to ensure you don’t miss out on the experience.

Very Important!!!
The tour might suffer some adjustments because of the Christ Statue Train Tickets, which during Cruise Ship Days, are not always available for the day/time we have previously scheduled for the Tour. We might even need to switch and have all passengers going to Christ in the Afternoon or the day before. For any adjustments, passengers will definitely be notified via email. Thank you for your comprehension.
