11Feb24 – Sunday – 9am Pick Up – Full-Day 08 Hour Tour

1st Stop – Selaron Stairways – Located on an unassuming backstreet of Old Downtown Rio, a few blocks from Cinelandia metro station, tucked away behind bars, restaurants, and homes, lies the unexpected explosion of color and creativity known as the Selaron Stairs (or Escadaria Selaron in Portuguese). This fanciful creation sprung directly from the imagination of Chilean Jorge Selaron, as a “tribute to the Brazilian people” in the words of the artist.
The tour will continue to the Sugar Loaf Mountains, where passengers will ride the World Famous Cable Cars (Fast-Pass Included on both ways), in two steps, all the way to the top of the Urca Hill, 215 meters high which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Niterói Beaches and the Corcovado Mountain. The visit will last approx 1 hour and a half.
After the Sugar Loaf visit, Tour will continue to our Welcome BBQ Lunch at Fogo de Chão Botafogo, one of the best Steakhouses in Brazil. It´s a beautiful restaurant located in Botafogo Cove, with an amazing view of Sugarloaf Mountain and the waterway. Phenomenal Salad Bar with such a huge variety of veggies, and cold and hot dishes. The charcoal grill roasted meat keeps coming until you say no, and you should definitely save space for the Argentinian cuts such as Ancho and Chorizo, and the Brazilian cut called Picanha. This genuine Brazilian Lunch experience will have a duration of approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes.

After Lunch, the Tour will continue to Copacabana Beach, which during the Holiday is closed for traffic, and where a big part of the Carnival action takes place. Known for its 4 km (2.5 miles) beach, which is one of the most famous in the world, and stretches from Posto Um (lifeguard watchtower One) in Leme Beach to Posto Seis (lifeguard watchtower Six).
Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches are definitely the places everyone wants to hang out during the Holiday, to soak up and enjoy the real Carnival atmosphere as there will be street parties all over the place. You´ll be able to seat by a kiosk for refreshments and people watch, walk the promenade, and even dive in the ocean. Make sure to bring your bathing suit. The visit will last approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes if traffic is favorable.

12Feb24 – Monday – 7:50am Pick Up – Half-Day 06 Hour Tour

1st Stop – Christ Statue – Pre-scheduled Train Tickets – No lines to go Up the Hill. Ride the Iconic Train to the top of Corcovado Hill. The visit will last approx 1 hour and a half. During Carnival, please expect big lines for the Return Train ride that unfortunately cannot be prescheduled (only going up). It´s crucial all passengers are together in the line so they can all catch the same return train. Otherwise, it will cause an inconvenient delay.
After the Christ visitation, Tour will continue to Ipanema Beach, where passengers will have 1 hour and 40 minutes at Leisure to swim in the ocean, walk the promenade, or seat by a Kiosk for drinks and snacks. The beachfront avenue is also closed to traffic and it becomes a huge boulevard, with parties all over and people wearing costumes celebrating the biggest Brazilian Holiday. It´ll be an unforgettable experience!
Ipanema is a 2km (1.25 miles) long beach, and it´s definitely one of Rio´s most sophisticated and upscale neighborhoods. Ipanema is divided into 3 areas, Arpoador (north end), Ipanema, and Leblon (south end). The beachfront properties have definitely the most expensive Square Foot in Rio and in Brazil.
After Ipanema, the Tour will have its last stop at Cinelândia Square – One of the most important squares in the city. It doesn’t have the same fame anymore as it had a hundred years ago when it was called the Broadway of Rio, but historically it has had a great impact on the development of the city. In the colonial period, the square was simply the area that housed the Ajuda Convent built for women in 1750. The most significant buildings in the area that remain in the square today are the Teatro Municipal (Municipal Theater), Biblioteca Nacional (Brazilian National Library), Palacio Pedro Ernesto (City Hall), Tribunal Superior (Higher Court), and the nearby Museu Nacional de Bela Artes (The National Museum of Fine Arts). Most of the buildings’ façades and interiors reflect the French Beaux-Arts architectural style, a design that was considered symbolic of Rio de Janeiro’s modernization. The visit will last approx. 20 minutes if Traffic is favorable.
1:35pm Return to the Port.
2-Day Tour was designed for passengers watching the Carnival Parade on Monday Night. Monday Early Tour Pick Up, so you can rest the entire afternoon and save all your energy for the Carnival Parade, which will start at 10pm and will finish around 5:30am. No Tour is scheduled for Tuesday, so you can recover from the very long evening. Carnival Parade Tickets & Transfers are not included in the 2-Day Tour, and DoBrazilRight will be glad to assist you with the best options!

Very Important!!!
The tour might suffer some adjustments because of the Christ Statue Train Tickets, which during Cruise Ship Days, are not always available for the day/time we have previously scheduled for the Tour. We might even need to switch and have all passengers going to Christ in the Afternoon or the day before. For any adjustments, passengers will definitely be notified via email. Thank you for your comprehension.
