07 Feb 27 – Sunday – 8 a.m. Pick Up – Half-Day 06 Hour Tour

1st Stop – Selaron Stairways – Located on an unassuming backstreet of Old Downtown Rio, a few blocks from Cinelandia metro station, tucked away behind bars, restaurants, and homes, lies the unexpected explosion of color and creativity known as the Selaron Stairs (or Escadaria Selaron in Portuguese). This fanciful creation sprang directly from the imagination of Chilean Jorge Selarón as a “tribute to the Brazilian people,” in the artist’s words. The visit will last approximately. 20 minutes
The tour will continue to the Sugar Loaf Mountains, where passengers will ride the World-Famous Cable Cars (Fast-Pass Included on both ways—4 rides) in two steps all the way to the top of the Urca Hill, 215 meters high. The hill already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Niterói Beaches, and the Corcovado Mountain. The visit will last approximately 2 hours.
The Tour will continue to Copacabana Beach, which is closed to traffic during the holiday and where a big part of the Carnival action takes place. The beach is known for its 4 km (2.5 miles) and is one of the most famous in the world. It stretches from Posto Um (Lifeguard Watchtower One) in Leme Beach to Posto Seis (Lifeguard Watchtower Six).
Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches are definitely the places everyone wants to hang out during the Holiday to soak up and enjoy the authentic Carnival atmosphere, as there will be street parties all over the place. You can sit by a kiosk for refreshments and people-watching, walk the promenade, and even dive into the ocean. Please bring your bathing suit. The visit will last approximately 1 hour if traffic is favorable.
After the Copacabana visit, the Tour will continue to our Welcome BBQ Lunch at Fogo de Chão Botafogo, one of the best Steakhouses in Brazil. It´s a beautiful restaurant in Botafogo Cove with a fantastic view of Sugarloaf Mountain and the waterway—a phenomenal Salad Bar with various veggies and cold and hot dishes. The charcoal-grilled roasted meat keeps coming until you say no, and you should save space for the Argentinian cuts, such as Ancho and Chorizo, and the Brazilian cut called Picanha. This genuine Brazilian Lunch experience will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

1:40pm Return to the Port – Early arrival will give you enough time to rest in the afternoon and save all the energy for the very long and unforgettable Carnival Parade evening (10 pm until 4-5 am)

08 Feb 27 – Monday – 10:20 a.m. Pick Up – Half-Day 05 Hour & a Half Tour

1st Stop – Christ Statue – Pre-scheduled Train Tickets – No lines to ride the tram up the Hill. Ride the Iconic Train to the top of Corcovado Hill. The visit will last approx 1 hour and a half. During Carnival, please expect long lines for the Return Train ride, which unfortunately cannot be pre-scheduled (only available for boarding). It´s crucial that all passengers are together in the line so they can all catch the same return train. Otherwise, it will cause an inconvenient delay.
After the Christ visitation, the Tour will continue to Ipanema Beach, where passengers will have 2 hours of leisure time to swim in the ocean, walk along the promenade, or sit by a Kiosk for drinks, snacks, and people-watching. The beachfront avenue is also closed to traffic, transforming into a huge boulevard with parties all over and people wearing costumes to celebrate the biggest Brazilian holiday. It´ll be an unforgettable experience!
Ipanema is a 2km (1.25 miles) long beach, and it´s definitely one of Rio´s and Brazil´s most sophisticated and upscale neighborhoods. Ipanema is divided into Arpoador (the northern end), Ipanema, and Leblon (the southern end). The beachfront properties have the most expensive Square footage in Rio and Brazil.
3:20 pm Return to the Port.
The 2-half-day Tour was specially crafted for passengers who wish to watch the Carnival Parade on Sunday Night. The Tour finishes early on Sunday, so you can rest all afternoon and save your energy for the unforgettable evening ahead. The parade starts at 9:30-10:00 p.m. and finishes around 4:00 a.m. Monday late Tour Pick Up so that you can have a couple of extra hours of sleep after the very long Parade evening. Carnival Parade Tickets and transfers are not included in the 2-half-day Tour. DoBrazilRight will be glad to assist you with the best options.

Very Important!!!
The tour might suffer some adjustments because of the Christ Statue Train Tickets, which during Cruise Ship Days, are not always available for the day/time we have previously scheduled for the Tour. We might even need to switch and have all passengers going to Christ in the Afternoon or the day before. For any adjustments, passengers will definitely be notified via email.
